Allegany State Park

Historical Society

The Allegany State Park Historical Society is a group of individuals that share a love for the Park and work toward preserving its history.

We meet the third Saturday of every month at 1:00 pm. Our October through May meetings are held in the Red House Administration Building. The June through September meetings are in the “Saint Johns Chapel in the Woods” across from the Quaker Museum. The meetings are always open to the public. Please join us!

Mission Statement

To promote interest in and preservation of the history of Allegany State Park and recognition of its relationship to and role in the heritage of New York State and Western New York by engaging in such activities but not limited to:

• Discovery, collection, and display of the significant materials that illustrate or demonstrate Allegany’s heritage.
• Cooperation with other Agencies with similar goals.
• Dissemination of historical information through programs, demonstrations, etc.
• Marking historical sites, trails, etc. and encouraging such activities by appropriate entities.
